Special Immigration Relief "TPS" Granted for Haitian Nationals by DHS Today!!!

Last week, we at Yu, South & Associates, PLLC, reported to you certain proposals and requests by US politicians to the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to grant a special immigration relief known as “Temporary Protective Status” (TPS) to all Haitian nationals who were currently in the United States but were not able to return due to the devastation caused by the disastrous earthquake in Haiti. We are now pleased to update you on the latest development about this TPS movement effort:

Possible Immigration Relief for Haiti Earthquake Devastation!!!

infoIn the wake of rescue efforts after the disastrous major earthquake that was the worst of all in Haiti for the past 200 years, American Immigration Lawyer's Association (AILA) is now asking the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to grant Temporary Protective Status (TPS) to the nationals of Haiti.

Slain veteran

infoLast year we reported to you a story of a fallen US Marine and his family’s immigration story where USCIS refused to recognize the marriage between the two and therefore denied the “green card” application filed by the pregnant wife, Hotaru Ferschle of Okinawa, Japan, after Michael Ferschke, 22, a team leader with the Okinawa-based 3rd Reconnaissance Battlalion, 3rd Marine Division, was killed in Iraq during a house to house search only shortly after marrying his then pregnant fiancée by telephone.

H-1B Cap Reached for Fiscal Year 2010 Yesterday!

infoThe remaining number under the numeric annual quota for H-1B cap for the fiscal year 2010 has now been used up, as USCIS announced that it has received sufficient number of H-1B petitions filed as of yesterday, December 21, 2009 under the fiscal year 2010 quota.

A "Big Day" for US Immigration Communities!

infoLast night, US Representative Luis Gutierrez (Democratic from Illinois) introduced a bill to the legislature and this long awaited bill for a comprehensive immigration reform or the latest edition of the previously lost “Dream Act” is now in the official process upon submission to the Congress!
